Uses & occasions

Shaped like a little matki, the clay pot of village India — playful, rustic and festive.

  • Diwali rows on steps, ledges and around the rangoli.
  • Janmashtami décor around Laddu Gopal's jhoola — the matki is Krishna's own.
  • Daily aarti on the mandir.
  • Return gifts for Diwali, Janmashtami celebrations, griha pravesh and weddings.
Care
  • Let the diya cool fully before cleaning.
  • Wipe the marble with a soft, dry or slightly damp cloth and dry it straight away.
  • Wipe off spilt ghee, oil, kumkum or haldi the same day — white marble is porous and can absorb stains.
  • Never use lemon, vinegar, bathroom cleaners or scrubbers on marble; they dull the surface.
  • The brass bowl will darken naturally with use. To restore its shine, use a brass cleaner or pitambari on the brass only, keeping it off the marble.
