Kusum means flower, and this diya is carved as one: eight broad petals cut from a single block of Banswara white marble, opening around a brass insert that holds a tealight. At six inches across and almost a kilo in weight, it sits steady on a mandir shelf, a pooja thali or the middle of a Diwali table, and the flame lights up every petal around it.

Care
- Let the diya cool fully before cleaning.
- Wipe the marble with a soft, dry or slightly damp cloth and dry it straight away; a soft brush clears the space between the petals.
- Wipe off wax, kumkum or haldi the same day — white marble is porous and can absorb stains.
- Never use lemon, vinegar, bathroom cleaners or scrubbers on marble; they dull the surface.
- The brass insert will darken naturally with use. Clean it in place with a soft cloth; for extra shine, use a little brass cleaner or pitambari on the brass only, keeping it off the marble.
